ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Jack Schoenberger and Jansen Preston each carded 2-under par final rounds of 68 on Friday as Kentucky wrapped up its time at the 2025 Southeastern Conference Men’s Golf Championship in 15th place at Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course (par 70, 7005 yards).

The Wildcats charted a final round of 286 (+6) as a team, climbing one position on the leaderboard and finishing at 22-over par for 54 holes of stroke play.

Preston, the Wildcats’ senior captain, ended matters on a strong note, rising into a tie for 32nd at even-par for the tournament behind what was his second round of 68 this week. The native of Lexington, Kentucky, made a team-best five birdies in round three, including back-to-back on holes No. 7 (par 5, 582 yards) and No. 8 (par 4, 368 yards). Preston’s 10 birdies for the week were the most on the team and tied for the 27th most in the field.

Schoenberger also excelled in round three, turning in his best score of the week and moving himself up into a tie for 51st place at 3-over par total. The junior made birdies on holes No. 6 (par 3, 179 yards), No. 7 (par 5, 582 yards) and No. 13 (par 4, 408 yards) to post a 2-under final round that featured just a lone bogey.

Freshman Gavin Clutts was unable to replicate his round two success, firing a 75 (+5) in the third round to finish tied for 66th. Clutts was able to end his SEC Championship debut with a birdie on the difficult No. 18 (par 4, 470 yards) his final hole of the tournament.

Auburn earned the No. 1 seed for match play by virtue of the Tigers’ 38-under par stroke-play total. Alabama and Texas finished tied for seventh at 6-under par to secure the final two of eight available match play spots.

Jackson Koivun of Auburn won the SEC individual title for the second consecutive year, finishing at 12-under par.
