Kentucky Men’s Tennis Earns First Round Bye at SEC Tournament

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –  After finishing the regular season on a five-match winning streak, the Kentucky men’s tennis team (16-10, 7-7 SEC) will open up postseason action at the 2025 SEC Men’s Tennis Tournament next week. The Cats earned the No. 9 seed in the field, receiving a first round bye. Kentucky will face eighth-seeded Auburn in the second round on Thursday, April 17 at 2 p.m. ET.

The 2025 SEC Tournament will be held at the Carolina Tennis Center in Columbia, S.C. Play will begin with three first round matches on Wednesday, April 16 and will run until the championship on Sunday, April 20. The top four seeds received doubles byes, while seeds No. 5-9 earned single byes.

Kentucky is the two-time defending champion of the league tournament and has reached the final in each of the past three seasons. Since 2022, Kentucky is 8-1 in SEC Tournament play.
