Kentucky Baseball Hosts No. 9 Ole Miss
The Kentucky baseball team returns home this week as it hosts No. 9 Ole Miss in a series that opens with Thursday night’s nationally televised game on the SEC Network.
Friday and Saturday’s games will be streamed on SECN+ and Live audio will be available on the UK Sports Network, UKathletics.com official app and 630 AM in Lexington.
Kentucky traveled to preseason top-ranked Texas A&M last weekend and took the final two games of the series after the Aggies staged a comeback to win the opener. The Cats (17-9, 4-5 Southeastern Conference) scored 31 runs in the three-game series and came up with clutch hits throughout, posting seven earned runs on all three of the Aggies’ starters, each of who came in with an ERA under 3.00.
Infielder Tyler Bell also earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors after he delivered eight hits in the series, including three doubles and a home run, and seven RBI. Sophomore LHP Ben Cleaver turned in a terrific start on Sunday that continued to solidify his place in the rotation.
After a tough 2024 campaign, Ole Miss (22-6, 6-3) has rocketed back into the Top 10 behind a potent offense. Former UK catcher Austin Fawley also has shined in his first season with the Rebels, slashing .314/.405.600 with four doubles, two home runs, 10 RBI and six walks in conference play. Ole Miss ranks eighth nationally this season with 55 home runs.
