LEXINGTON, Ky. – Eight student-athletes on the Kentucky Swimming and Diving team were honored as a member of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. These individuals are Kaelan Daly, Lydia Hanlon, Carson Hick, Chris Nagy, Justin Peresse, Levi Sandidge, Maddie Welborn, and Lauren West.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Swimming & Diving teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. Four men and four women individuals are nominated on behalf of each school, in which they must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a 3.50 GPA, and compete in five competitions or finish top eight at a conference meet that season.
Daly and Welborn are both senior Human Health Sciences majors, and Hanlon is a senior double-majoring in Digital Media and Design and Communication. Nagy is a graduate student pursuing his master’s degree in Computer Engineering. Peresse is a first year CSC Academic All-District qualifier as a sophomore Management major and Lauren West double majors in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Psychology.
Carson Hick and Levi Sandidge were also selected to the team with an additional honor of being on the ballot for the CSC Academic All-American team as well. Sophomore Hick is majoring in Political Science and Sandidge, a junior, Computer Science. The All-American team will be released on April 22 with hopes that the list includes both student-athletes.
