UK has already competed at one iteration of the Charles Schwab hosted by TCU this season, finishing in sixth place out of 11 teams at Ridglea Country Club in late October. While it was a different course, López Echevarría paced the team on a career-best, even-par tournament total for a T6 finish in the talented field. There, she strung together rounds of 72, 70 and 71.
López Echevarría leads the team with a 72.9 stroke average through 18 rounds at six events this season.
Kentucky’s lineup is young but tested this week, including one senior, one sophomore and three freshmen. One of those freshman, Karlie Campbell, has co-led the team in two of the last three events this spring, including finishing with a career-best 5-under for a T4 finish at the Paradise Invitational for which she was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week.
The Charles Schwab is UK’s last event before the postseason, which begins with the SEC Championship in Pelican Golf Club in Tampa, Florida, on April 14.
