
No. 8 Kentucky Finishes Sixth at SEC Championships
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 8 Kentucky concluded the 2025 SEC Championships in sixth place on Saturday evening, scoring a 196.775—its lowest team total since the first meet of the season. The Cats placed second in Session I, defeating No. 10 Georgia and No. 12 Auburn—who each scored 195.950—and falling to No. 13 Alabama, who scored a 197.100.
All four teams in the evening session outscored the Cats as well, with No. 2 LSU taking the SEC Championship with a score of 198.200. No. 1 Oklahoma finished second with a 197.925, No. 3 Florida was third with a score of 197.825, and No. 7 Missouri rounded out the top four with a 197.400.
The Cats saw 9.9+ performances from four Wildcats on Saturday, with Skylar Killough-Wilhelm adding a 9.925 on bars, Isabella Magnelli scoring a 9.900 on beam, Creslyn Brose posting a 9.925 on floor, and Hailey Davis scoring a 9.900 on floor that including a perfect 10.0 from one of four judges. Magnelli and Brose’s scores were the top marks in the opening session. Overall, Magnelli would finish in a tie for fifth on the balance beam, just .025 from a share of the conference title on the event. Brose finished in a tie for eighth on the floor exercise.
The Cats starting the day on vault, scoring a 49.125. Magnelli and Cecily Rizo led the rotation with 9.850s, while Makenzie Wilson added a 9.825. Jillian Procasky and Ryan Noonan each added 9.800s, with Noonan’s mark setting her collegiate best for her upgraded Yurckenko half on, pike half off. Killough-Wilhelm added a 9.750 out of the anchor spot that was dropped.
Moving to the uneven bars, Kentucky scored another 49.125, led by Killough-Wilhelm’s 9.925. Rizo started the rotation with a 9.800, followed by a 9.750 from Annie Riegert. Procasky fell on her Maloney—scoring a 9.250—but Davis responded with a 9.800. Delaynee Rodriguez was able to stick her dismount and add a 9.850 to set up Killough-Wilhelm’s big score.
The Cats moved to the balance beam where they added a score of 49.100. Rodriguez led off with another 9.850, followed by a 9.750 from Brose. Sharon Lee made her SEC Championships debut with a 9.800, followed by another debut from Chesney Bennett that earned a 9.775. A balance check caused Killough-Wilhelm to score a 9.775, but Magnelli delivered her 12th consecutive 9.9+ performance to end the rotation on a high note.
Kentucky closed the night with the highest single rotation score of the opening session, scoring a 49.425 to surpass the 49.400 barrier on the event for the sixth consecutive meet. Procasky matched her season high with a 9.850 performance out of the leadoff spot, setting up Magnelli to follow with a 9.875. Rodriguez was short on one of her passes to only post a 9.800, but it was able to be dropped thanks to elite performances by the final three athletes. Killough-Wilhlem delivered another 9.875 to the tally, before Brose and Davis closed with back-to-back scores of 9.9+.
The Cats will await their postseason fate during the 2025 NCAA Gymnastics Championship selection show, set to take place on Monday, March 24 at Noon ET on ESPNU.
