LEXINGTON, Ky. – As announced on Wednesday, three Kentucky swimmers have been selected to compete at the 2025 NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships, along with one diver.
Sophomore Carson Hick, junior Ryan Merani, and junior Levi Sandidge all punched their ticket to the meet in Federal Way, Washington. Joining the swimmers will also be diver Sam Duncan, who secured his spot on Monday in the 1-meter at the NCAA Zone C Championship. The NCAA Championship meet will be hosted by Washington State University at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center on March 26-29.
Hick, Merani, and Sandidge are all making a return to the championships. Hick qualified for the 500 free, 200 free, and 1650 free while Merani has earned bids for the 200 IM, 400 IM, and 200 fly. Sandidge has qualified for the 500 Free, 400 IM, and 1650 free.
After coming off a silver medal performance in the 1650 free at the SEC Championship, Sandidge ranks the fourth fastest time in the country this year and Hick the 11th. Hick also ranks 11th in the 500 free, with Sandidge at 40th. In the 400 IM Merani comes in at 29th and Sandidge at 47th. Additionally, Merani sits at 34th in the 200 IM and 21st in the 200 fly.
Duncan will continue diving at the Zone C Championship today in hopes to also qualify in the platform diving event.
