Creslyn Brose Earns SEC Specialist of the Week Honors
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore Creslyn Brose was named the Week Ten Southeastern Conference Specialist of the Week after her perfect 10 floor performance against No. 16 Arkansas, the league office announced Tuesday.
Brose’s efforts helped No. 9 Kentucky edge No. 16 Arkansas, with her 10 in the Cats’ penultimate routine moving the home team ahead of the Hogs for good. The Wildcats posted a season high score of 197.925 on Friday, tying the third-highest team score in school history. The Cats’ floor score of 49.725 was also the third-highest score on the apparatus in the program annals.
The Holly Springs, N.C. native’s perfect performance on Friday was the first 10 of her young career, making her the fourth Wildcat in program history to achieve the highest possible score in collegiate gymnastics, joining Jenny Hansen, Makenzie Wilson, and Raena Worley. Brose scored the 11th perfect 10 on floor and 36th perfect 10 across all events in Kentucky history.
The 2024 Regular Season All-American on the event now owns 18 career scores of 9.9 or greater on the event in only 21 routines competed. Prior to her perfect 10, Brose had a previous career high of 9.975, achieved twice during her freshman campaign. Brose has now won three straight event titles, scoring 9.950+ in each meet during that streak. After a 28-year perfect 10 drought from 1996-2024, the Cats have now scored eight perfect 10s in the past two seasons.
The Cats will close the regular season on Friday, March 14, traveling to the Swamp to take on No. 4 Florida at 6:45 p.m. ET. The meet will be streamed live on SEC Network + from Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
