“We are excited to continue the series with Gonzaga in Nashville next season,” UK head coach Mark Pope said. “I have a ton of respect for Mark Few and his program, which has been one of the best over the last two decades. We want to continue to put our team in challenging situations and provide BBN with opportunities to see Kentucky’s team play across the country. Nashville has been good to BBN over the years, and we look forward to seeing lots of Blue in Bridgestone Arena in December.”

This will mark the fourth straight season the teams will tangle on the hardwood. The series is tied 2-2 all-time. In the most recent meeting, Kentucky matched the largest halftime deficit overcome in program history to down No. 7/8 Gonzaga in Seattle, 90-89, in overtime. The Wildcats trailed by as many as 18 in the game but were down 16 at intermission.

Gonzaga won the first two meetings in the current series, while UK earned its first win against Gonzaga in 2002 at the Maui Invitational.

Bridgestone Arena is known for hosting the Southeastern Conference Tournament where the Wildcats have claimed five league titles (2001, 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017). UK is 20-6 all-time in the building during SEC Tournament and NCAA Tournament action. Kentucky claimed a pair of NCAA Tournament wins in 2003. The regular-season game vs. Gonzaga will mark the team’s first-ever regular-season contest inside of Bridgestone.
