Big Blue Preview: No. 14/14 Kentucky Women’s Basketball Travels to Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 14/14 University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will play at Missouri in Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri, on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The game will be broadcast on UK Sports Network, with Darren Headrick providing the radio call for his eighth consecutive season as the voice of the Wildcats. The broadcast will be available on 630 AM WLAP (Lexington) and 790 AM WKRD (Louisville).

Big Blue Nation also can watch the game on SEC Network+, with Casey Roehl and Jordan Roundtree on the call.

Kentucky enters the game with a 20-4 overall record, including a 9-3 mark in the Southeastern Conference and a 5-3 mark on the road. The team is off to its best 24-game start since 2012-13, when the program began the season 21-3.

Kentucky is coming off a triumph over Georgia, 84-55, inside Historic Memorial Coliseum last Sunday, completing the two-game sweep of the Lady Bulldogs. All five starters scored in double digits for the fifth time this season, including Georgia Amoore, All-American point guard, who led the team on 21 points and seven assists. It marked her 12th 20-plus point game this season, while it marked her 15th 15-plus point and five-plus assist game this season, the most of any player in the league since at least 2002-03.

The Wildcats also got a double-double from Teonni Key, who had 14 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. It marked her 10th double-double in 2024-25, while it was her third straight. Clara Strack added 14 points, while Amelia Hassett also scored 14 points. Dazia Lawrence made five of her six field goals, including three from beyond the arc, on her way to 15 points.

UK recorded its first 20-plus win season since 2019-20, when the program went 22-8. It marked the 21st season that UK produced a 20-plus win season in program history, while it marked the 19th season that Kenny Brooks has come up with a 20-plus win season in his 23 years as a head coach.

Brooks also tied the late Terry Hall as the quickest head coaches in program history to reach their first 20 wins at Kentucky (24 games).

Kentucky enters its game against Missouri ranked in the nation’s top 25 in nine categories, including blocks per game (7.0), defensive rebounds per game (29.8), field-goal percent defense (35.4), assist-turnover ratio (1.39), three-point, field-goal percent defense (26.1), free-throw percentage (78.0), assists per game (17.8), three-point, field-goal attempts per game (25.5) and three-point field goals made per game (8.6).

Moreover, Amoore is ranked second in the nation in assists per game (7.2), while Strack is ranked seventh in the nation in blocks per game (2.6). Also, Lawrence is leading the league in three-point field-goal percentage at 44.6 percent. She has knocked down 58-of-130 attempts from long range this season, while her 2.42 three-point field goals per game are ranked third in the league.

Kentucky has just four games left in the regular season, currently in fourth place in the conference standings and with a one-game lead over Alabama.

The Kentucky-Missouri game will mark the 18th all-time meeting between the two teams. Kentucky leads the meetings with Missouri, 12-5, in a series that began in 1989. The series is tied in games played in Columbia, 4-4.

The Wildcats have an active two-game winning streak over the Tigers.
