Two Kentucky Relievers on Stopper of the Year Watch List
Kentucky seniors Simon Gregersen and Robert Hogan have been named to the initial Watch List for the 20th Annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball, the association announced Wednesday.
Gregersen, from Elk River, Minnesota, is entering his first season at Kentucky after saving a team-best seven games for Indiana State last season. He posted a 4.35 earned run average in 37.0 innings, striking out 43.
Hogan, from North Oaks, Minnesota, is coming off a breakout 2024 season where he was a critical component of Kentucky’s first-ever College World Series appearance. Recently named to the 2025 Preseason All-Southeastern Conference team, Hogan appeared in 24 games last season. He finished 1-0 with a 3.10 ERA in 40.2 innings and held opponents to just a .127 batting average with runners on base.
Kentucky opens its season Friday, February 14 at Lipscomb.
