Kentucky Places Four on CSC Academic All-District Team
Four Kentucky football players were selected to the 2024 Division I Academic All-District Team, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced. The 2024 Academic All-District® Football teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Defensive back Ty Bryant, tight end Josh Kattus, wide receiver Dane Key and punter Aidan Laros each earned the honor for their efforts this season.
Bryant, a sophomore, is a communication major from Lexington, Kentucky. He is a two-time member of the Dean’s List and as a freshman in 2023, was named to the Southeastern Conference First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
He played in all 12 games this season with 10 starting assignments and totaled 41 tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss, an interception and a team-high tying two forced fumbles.
Kattus, a junior from Cincinnati, also majors in communication. He was named to the First-year SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2022 and was a member of the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll in 2023. He has been on the Dean’s List three semesters.
On the field in 2024, Kattus saw action in 11 games with eight starts and totaled six catches for 77 yards and two scores.
Key, a junior and native of Lexington, Kentucky, majored in communication and was also a CSC Academic All-District member last year as well as being a member of the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
He started in 11 of 12 games played in 2024, leading the team in receptions (47) and receiving yards (715) with two touchdowns.
Laros, a junior from Cape Town, South Africa, is a pre-finance major who saw action in all 12 games in his first season as a Wildcat. He handled kickoffs and was the primary punter in the last nine games, totaling 32 punts for a 45.4 average.
