Kentucky Swimmer Ralf Roose to Compete at World Aquatics Championships

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky swimmer Ralf Roose will represent Team Estonia at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships this week in Budapest, Hungary. The freshman will compete in the 50-meter and 100-meter breaststroke.

Roose, a native of Tartu, Estonia, earned two golds in the 50-meter and 100-meter breaststroke and a bronze medal in the 200 breaststroke at the 2024 Estonian Short Course Championships over the summer to earn his spot on the national team. He has a total of three gold, one silver, and three bronze medals on his resume with two of those medals coming from the Estonian Junior National Championships in 2019.

Roose transferred to Kentucky after one season with George Washington in Arlington, Virginia in 2023. Roose scored 37 points with two gold medals and one silver in his first trip to the A-10 Championships to help the Revolutionaries win the team title.
