Logan Dorsey and Martin Soereide Named to Sun Belt All-Tournament Team
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s soccer duo Logan Dorsey and Martin Soereide have been named to the 2024 Sun Belt Conference All-Tournament Team, the conference announced at the conclusion of Sunday’s championship match.
“Really proud of Logan and Martin for making the all-tournament team,” head coach Johan Cedergren said. “They both had excellent performances in the quarterfinal and semifinal matches to close out a pair of impressive college careers.”
Logan Dorsey
A senior forward from Evergreen, Co., Dorsey recorded Kentucky’s two goals scored over its two tournament matches. A successful penalty kick earned Dorsey his fifth game-winning score to advance the Wildcats to the semifinal contest where he scored his 14th and final goal of the season. Dorsey led the 2024 squad in goals-scored while also recording three assists, 50 shots and 29 shots on goal.
Martin Soereide
Soereide, a senior captain from Jessheim, Norway, was a key component to Kentucky’s quarterfinal success and semifinal battle. The midfielder saw action in 15 matches throughout the season including the pair of tournament contests. With three goals and two assists, Soereide contributed eight points and 15 shots with seven on goal. In the tournament, Soereide’s impressive performance limited the opposing attack while contributing to the Wildcat press.
Kentucky fell in the semifinal round of the conference tournament to title winner and one-seeded West Virginia, 1-2. The Mountaineers defeated Marshall for the regular-season title before taking on the Thundering Herd once again for the conference double. For the full all-tournament team list, click here.
