Sun Belt Conference Announces 2024 Postseason Awards

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Sun Belt Conference announced its 2024 postseason awards Friday afternoon ahead of the first round of the conference tournament which will begin on Sunday.

Logan Dorsey was named All-Sun Belt First Team while Agustin Lopez, Josh Gordon and Marqes Muir were named All-Sun Belt Second Team.

Logan Dorsey

Dorsey, a senior from Evergreen, Co., earns his first conference postseason honor following 12 goals, four game-winners and three assists throughout the regular season schedule. Additionally, he has recorded 42 shots, 26 shots on goal and 27 points in 16 matches. He became the first Wildcat in program history to score two hat-tricks earning dual Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week nods and one NCAA Player of the Week honor. The forward leads the 2024 squad in goals scored to tie for the top spot in the conference while leading the Sun Belt in shots on goal. He is the first Kentucky men’s soccer student-athlete to score at least one goal in four consecutive matches since Kalil ElMedkhar in 2019.

Agustin Lopez

A freshman from Santa Fe, Argentina, Lopez has made a big impact in his first season as a Wildcat. Ranking No. 35 on Top Drawer Soccer’s Midseason Top 100 Freshman list, he earns his first conference postseason award. He has tallied the third most minutes on the team with 1,230 played in 16 matches seeing 15 starts. The midfielder is second on the 2024 squad with 29 shots and 10 shots on goal while tying for third most goals scored (2) and most points acquired (29).

Josh Gordon

Gordon, a sophomore from Scarborough, Ontario, earns his first conference postseason honor following an impressive season. The defender leads the team in assists with six total for the regular season while recording the second most minutes played (1,266) in 15 matches with 15 starts. Tying for third in the Sun Belt for most assists, Gordon has been a big part of a Kentucky backline that has conceded the fewest goals in the conference.

Marqes Muir

A sophomore from London, England, Muir caps off a strong regular season performance with his first postseason honor. Leading the team with 1,289 minutes played, the captain has seen action in 15 matches with 15 starts. He has tallied two assists while playing an integral part in the Kentucky backline’s defensive efforts in his sophomore season.
