Makala Woods Named SEC Offensive Player of the Week
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following her first career hat-trick, graduate forward Makala Woods has been named the Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Thursday.
Woods, a graduate transfer from Monroe, Ohio, collects her first SEC Offensive Player of the Week award after scoring her first career hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Tennessee. The performance helped the program secure its second straight and 24th overall appearance at the SEC tournament and closed out the regular season undefeated at home for only the second time in program history – the first since 2011.
Woods now has a career-high 11 goals and 23 points on the season and ranks in the top five in goals scored in the SEC this year.
The No. 8-seed Wildcats kick off the 2024 SEC tournament on Sunday, November 3rd against No. 9-seed Tennessee at 5:30 p.m. ET in the Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Florida.
