Men’s Soccer Faces Historic Rival Indiana on Tuesday
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s soccer (2-2-4, 1-0-2 Sun Belt) will travel to long-time rival Indiana (3-3-5, 2-1-2 B1G) for a 7 p.m. EST matchup on Tuesday at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
The Wildcats enter the contest after a 2-0 shutout of RV South Carolina on the road last Friday. Senior Logan Dorsey and junior Iker Carew scored the two goals for UK while junior goalkeeper Ryan Jack earned his third consecutive clean sheet in three starts. The keeper’s save of a penalty kick in the 89’ sealed the deal for the first conference victory of the season. The match at Indiana will be the third away contest in a two-week road trip for the Wildcats.
The Hoosiers prepare for Tuesday following a 2-2 draw at home with conference opponent Washington last week. IU’s three wins so far in the 2024 season have come from the defeats of Yale, Rutgers and Wisconsin.
Kentucky and Indiana hold an all-time series record of 20-3-5 (IU) with the first contest taking place in 1992. The historic rivals last went head-to-head in the 2023 season which ended in a 1-1 draw at The Bell Soccer Complex. The Wildcats have only defeated the Hoosiers in Bloomington, Ind. twice – 1995 and 2022.
