14 Wildcats Named WCGA Scholastic All-Americans
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky gymnastics has been named one of 63 programs to post a 3.50 or higher grade point average with 14 student-athletes named Scholastic All-Americans following the 2023-24 academic year, the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Tying the second-best number of Kentucky gymnasts earning the academic nod, four of the 14 student-athletes who received the honor also earned a perfect 4.0 GPA – Cadence Gormely, Claire Stippich, Delaynee Rodriguez and Sharon Lee.
Overall, 63 programs averaged a 3.50 or higher GPA, with 1,174 individuals earning that mark, which is the most ever recorded (since 2008 when statistics were monitored), according to the WCGA. An impressive 296 student-athletes posted a 4.0 GPA, another new record since 2008. The average GPA across all reported student-athletes was 3.6103, which is the 2nd highest recorded.
