Wide Receiver Ja’Mori Maclin Chosen for The Biletnikoff Award Watch List
University of Kentucky football wide receiver Ja’Mori Maclin has been named to The Biletnikoff Award watch list, it was announced by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. on Wednesday.
He was one of 49 student-athletes selected to the preseason list, including one of seven from the Southeastern Conference, which annually recognizes the most outstanding receiver in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Any player who catches a pass, regardless of position, is eligible for the award.
Maclin, a 5-foot-11 wide receiver from Kirkwood, Missouri, played the last two seasons at North Texas (2022-23) after transferring from Missouri (2020-21). He has played in 29 career games and made 13 career starts, totaling 74 receptions for 1,389 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was named to the American Athletics Conference Second Team last season after recording 57 catches for 1,004 yards and 11 scores, leading North Texas in each category. He had four games of 100-or-more yards in 2023, including a career-best 163 yards in a win over Temple. He also became the first player in North Texas program history to average better than 17.0 yards per catch in a single season in 2023. He was also on the midseason Biletnikoff Award Watch List last season.
Maclin graduated in the fall of 2023 from North Texas with a degree in integrative studies. He is currently working on an undergraduate certificate in leadership studies at UK and is on track to receive that certificate in December of ’24.
The Biletnikoff Award semifinalists will be named Nov. 18 and the three finalists will be appointed Nov. 26. The winner will be announced at The Home Depot College Football Awards on Dec. 12.
