Three Wildcats to Represent in 2024 Lexington Challenger

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s tennis will be represented by Zoe Hammond, Ellie Eades and Elizabeth Stevens in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) division of the 2024 Lexington Challenger held at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center, July 29-Aug. 4.

The Lexington Challenger presented by Meridian Wealth Management, will begin play on Monday, July 29. The men’s tournament kicked off the day before but was delayed due to inclement weather.

Hammond, a junior from Edmonton, Okla., will begin with singles competition in the evening session on Monday. She is slated to play in the first round of the women’s singles qualifier on stadium two. Hammond will face Canada’s No. 8-ranked Kayla Cross at the conclusion of the fourth match of No. 2 Katrina Scott and Carrie Beckman, both of the United States.

Still to come in the tournament, Hammond and Eades will team up for doubles play with Stevens set to play in main draw singles. The match times and dates are to be announced.
