Hannah Richardson Returns to Bluegrass, Signs with Lexington SC
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Hannah Richardson, a star for Kentucky women’s soccer from 2019-2022, is returning to Lexington to continue her professional soccer career.
As announced by the club on Monday, Richardson has signed on as apart of Lexington Sporting Club’s inaugural USL Super League roster, whose first ever season is set to begin this August.
“I’m excited to be back in the city of Lexington,” Richardson said via a Lexington SC news release. “From playing soccer at UK and graduating here, Lexington has always meant a lot to me. I feel blessed to be apart of this inaugural season and paving the way for young girls to be inspired to chase their dreams!”
During her four years at Kentucky, Richardson amassed 22 goals and 14 assists while starting in 56 of 62 total appearances.
The Bartlett, Illinois native finished off her collegiate career in 2022, starting all 18 matches for the Cats and leading the team with nine assists, a career-high mark which ranked third in the Southeastern Conference.
The dynamic forward had two, eight-goal seasons with the Wildcats, including one her freshmen year, when she was named to the SEC All-Freshmen Team.
Richardson graduated from the University with a bachelor’s degree in communication. She was a four-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection.
This past season, Richardson played for HB Koge, a top-flight club in Denmark, helping the team finish third in Denmark’s Elitedivision.
