Three Current Wildcats Shine at USA Shooting National Championships

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Three current University of Kentucky rifle stars competed recently in the 2024 USA Shooting National Championships and performed well as Liz Probst, Braden Peiser and Brandon Evans all finished top-20 in every event they participated in last week.

Probst, who will be a true freshman at Kentucky this fall, finished 16th overall in the 10m women’s air rifle championship, finishing as the 11th-best junior. Her best performance of the week was finishing seventh overall in the 50m women’s three position championships, earning the fourth-best junior finish.

Peiser, who had an incredible freshman season at Kentucky, finished top five in all three events he competed in, earning the junior championships in the 10m men’s air rifle. He was fourth overall in that event. In 50m men’s three position, Peiser finished fourth overall and second among juniors.

Probst and Peiser teamed up to compete together in the 10m air rifle team event, finishing fourth overall.

Incoming Kentucky newcomer Brandon Evans, who will join the team as a transfer this fall, finished 13th overall and sixth as a junior in 10m men’s air rifle. He also competed in the 50m men’s three position, finishing 18th overall and seventh as a junior.
