Charity Hufnagel Concludes NCAA Outdoor Championships for UKTF

EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Charity Hufnagel was the lone Wildcat in Hayward Field this afternoon as UKTF wrapped up the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Hufnagel secured a top 10 finish in the heptathlon and placed 12th in the high jump to conclude the competition.

The Indiana native resumed the heptathlon competition this afternoon after finishing day one with 3,655 points. On Friday, she picked up 1,067 points, her highest points total of the competition, after winning the high jump competition and improving her school record to 6’1.50”/1.87 meters.

Hufnagel started Saturday with the long jump where she placed 14th with a mark of 19’0”/5.79 meters for 786 points. She moved on to the javelin throw next, scoring 4,994 points with a 17th-place finish. She ended the heptathlon two hours later with the grueling 800 meters closing out the competition with a time of 2:17.91 to place 10th for 852 points. She ended the day with a seventh-place finish in the heptathlon with 5,846 total points and scored two points for the program.

The women’s program finished the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 53rd with 2.5 total points.
