Men’s Golf Adds Belmont Transfer, Jack Schoenberger

by Greg Welsh

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s golf and head coach Gator Todd announced the addition of Jack Schoenberger, an All-Missouri Valley Conference honoree at Belmont in 2023-24, on Friday.

“We’re excited to welcome Jack to our UK golf family,” Todd said. “He’s an athlete and has real confidence and those are two traits that I really love as a recruiter. He’s had a great past two years at Belmont and we expect him to make an immediate impact in Lexington.”

Schoenberger, originally from Milton, Ga., posted a 70.5 scoring average this past season, the third lowest single-season scoring average in Belmont history. He nabbed top-20 finishes in all 10 of his starts on the year, including a win at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational where he was 13-under for 54 holes and fired a career-low score of 64 in the second round. He led the Bruins with 21 rounds of par-or-better, the second most in a single season in program history.

During his freshman campaign, Schoenberger was named the MVC Newcomer of the Year, posting a 72.1 scoring average. Schoenberger owns a 71.37 scoring mark for his collegiate career across 62 total rounds. He finished at par-or-better in 37 of those 62 rounds.

Schoenberger attended high school at Kings Ridge Christian Academy where he was a two-time All-State honoree. He was ranked 10th in the state of Georgia for his class by Junior Golf Scoreboard.
