Cosnet and Weekes Selected to CSC Academic All-District List
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Men’s tennis sophomores, Charlelie Cosnet and Jaden Weekes were chosen as a part of the second-ever College Sports Communicators men’s tennis Academic All-District selections, the committee announced on Tuesday.
The CSC Academic All-District honorees were selected to recognize student-athletes with outstanding academic and athletic achievements. The 2023-2024 season marks the second year in which men’s tennis has been included as a sport-specific contest. Previously, men’s tennis student-athletes were recognized as a part of CSC’s At-Large contests.
Cosnet is a current sophomore working towards a degree in finance. A native of Le Mans, France, Cosnet is in his second full season with the Wildcats and his first season of eligibility for CSC All-District. He has been a key singles contributor this season, playing at the fourth position with an outstanding overall record of 21-3.
Weekes the sophomore from Montreal, Canada is also studying finance and is coming up on his second full year as a Kentucky Wildcat. This season, Weekes has competed in both singles and doubles with an overall record of 13-8 in singles at the third position. He went 9-2 in Southeastern Conference play and broke into the ITA singles rankings at No. 124. In doubles, Weekes consistently paired up with freshmen Eli Stephenson and Matt Rankin this season for an overall record of 10-12.
Players who qualify for CSC Academic All-District honors must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and be in the lineup for 70% of the total matches played by the team.
Select All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 5.
