Anna Havens Rice Selected to CSC Academic All-America Team
LEXINGTON, Ky- Kentucky Swimming and Diving Senior Anna Havens Rice was selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team for the second consecutive year, the organization announced Tuesday.
Honorees must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Eligible swimming and diving athletes must have competed in four competitions or finish top eight at a conference meet. To earn Academic All-America status, student-athletes must first be tabbed All-District honorees, before advancing to the national ballot where CSC members vote on Academic All-America teams.
Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom.
Havens Rice is a two-time qualifier for NCAAs and a 2021 All-American Honorable mention in the 400 IM. The Chemistry major was recognized in 2022 and 2023 as an SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll athlete. She was named to the CSCAA Scholar All-American First Team in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons and was honored on the 2024 CSC All- District Academic Team earlier this month.
The Greenville, S.C. native currently holds UK all-time top-10 times in the 100 breaststroke (10th), 200 butterfly (5th), 200 IM (7th) and 400 IM (6th). Havens Rice was an A-finalist in the 400 IM at the 2024 SEC Championships and also reached the B-final in the 200 fly and 200 IM.
