Format Set for Kentucky Football Blue-White Spring Game
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The format for Kentucky Football’s Blue-White Spring Game, presented by Blue Oval SK, a showcase of the Wildcats’ spring practice, is set for Saturday, April 13.
The event will begin at 1 p.m. and will feature practice segments and interactive features for fans. Due to injuries and other challenges accrued over spring practice so far this season, full game play could be limited, but fans will still get a look at the 2024 Wildcats in Kroger Field.
Admission is free. Gates will open at noon ET.
“You guys are going to see with the spring game I cannot do my typical just go-to-the-ground (full tackling),” Head Coach Mark Stoops said after practice last Saturday. “We’re down eight d-linemen that can’t participate so what happens is I put everybody else at risk if I go full tilt and o-linemen are playing against freshman people. We’re going to get more injuries, so can’t do it.
“So, we’ll have some format and it’ll be open and we’ll have practice and thud it and everybody can see what we’ve been doing, which is fine, but it won’t be your typical. There’s no way I could divide it and have two teams. Even going offense against defense to the ground I just don’t have enough bodies. So, we’ll have some format, you guys will see it and be able to see practice, but it is slowing us down a touch. We’ll overcome it.”
Free parking will be available in the lots surrounding Kroger Field.
Fans can choose to sit where they would like within lower level seating in the north, south and west endzone. The east end zone will be closed and the upper decks won’t open unless the lower levels fill. All standard seating will be open and general admission, except for Sections 25-27 (Club Level), Loge Level and specific seating blocks designated for the football program.
There will not be a live broadcast or stream, but coverage will follow on social media and on SEC Network in the coming weeks.
The game will return to Kroger Field for the first time since 2022. UK held an open practice across Talbott Todd Way at the Joe Craft Football Training Facility instead of the more “traditional” Spring Game last year because the playing surface in Kroger Field was being replaced.
UK’s ticket sales staff will be on hand to discuss ticket packages for the 2024 season with interested fans.
2024 Kentucky Football season tickets are on sale now, with prospective new season ticket holders able to work together with a personal ticketing consultant to compare and purchase available seat locations by submitting a request at this link or by contacting the UK Sales Office at (800) 928-2287 (Option 1). Fans are also able to access to the Kentucky Football Virtual Venue for 360-degrees views from inside Kroger Field.
Returning season ticket holders are still able to renew their season tickets through their My UK Account at UKathletics.com/renew. The renewal deadline for 2024 football season tickets is Friday, April 12.
