Kentucky Volleyball To Make Japan Trip in May 2024
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Volleyball team will be taking an international trip to Japan in May, the program announced Wednesday morning. The trip to Japan follows trips in the past that the UK Volleyball team has taken to destinations including China and Brazil as recently as 2019.
The Wildcats will depart May 18 for the Asian economic capital of Tokyo and return to the United States on May 29, completing an 11-day stay in Japan. During the trip, Kentucky will be stopping at three featured destinations, including Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.
The team will play matches on May 20, May 23 and May 25 with training days inbetween. The Wildcats will open the competition against Japanese teams on May 20 as UK faces Senri Kinran University. The second match Kentucky will play will be two days later on May 23 against Ryokoku University before closing out the competition portion of the trip on May 25 against Sundai Gauken High School.
Kentucky will fly into Tokyo, spending the first few days in Osaka before heading to Kyoto before closing out the trip in the nation’s capital.
