Team 50 to Begin Road to Nationals in Arkansas Regional
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky gymnastics will begin the Road to Nationals in the Arkansas Regional selected as the seven seed overall. The Wildcats are set to compete at Barnhill Arena in Fayetteville, Ark. April 3-6, the NCAA announced on Monday during its selection show.
The Fayetteville Regional will be comprised of host No. 10 Arkansas, No. 7 Kentucky, Arizona and Nebraska in the first quad meet while the second quad will feature No. 2 LSU, No. 15 Minnesota and Oregon State. The fourth spot of the second quad will be determined by a play-in day dual meet between BYU and Boise State.
The top two teams from each quad of the Arkansas and Michigan regionals (April 3 to 6) and the California and Florida regionals (April 4 to 7) will determine who will advance to the NCAA National Championships April 18-20 in Fort Worth, Texas at Dickies Arena.
The top 36 teams, based on the national qualifying score (NQS), were selected for regional competition. The committee named the top 16 teams and seeded them in the bracket. Seeding determined at the time of selections will be maintained through the championship. Teams 17-36 were placed geographically at one of the four regional sites. Nine teams will compete at each of the four sites.
