Women’s Swimming Primed for 2024 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championship

ATHENS, Ga. – Kentucky women’s swimming & diving will travel to the 2024 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by the University of Georgia on March 20-23 at the Jack Bauerle Pool at Gabrielsen Natatorium. 

Senior Bridget Engel and sophomore Grace Frericks both earned invitations to the meet for the second consecutive year. Engel is qualified to compete in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke, where she ranks 26th and 43rd respectively, while Frericks earned bids for the 100 and 200 backstroke as well as the 200 freestyle. Frericks enters the meet seeded 19th in the 200 backstroke, her top event this season. 

Friday’s Championship competition will include 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke, with the preliminary round set to begin at 10 a.m. E.T., and the championship rounds commencing at 6 p.m. Saturday’s events, including the 200 breaststroke and 200 backstroke, will begin that morning at 10 p.m., with finals at 6 p.m. All sessions will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Last season, the Wildcats placed 19th at the 2023 NCAA Championships, totaling 49 points and two first-team All-American selections.
