Alex Goff Recognized on Haskins Award Spring Watch List

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s golf’s Alex Goff has been named to the Spring Watch List for the 2023-24 Haskins Award, the Haskins Foundation announced on Monday.

Goff, a graduate student from Kings Mountain, N.C., is one of 15 student-athletes recognized as finalists for college golf’s premier award, and one of eight in the Southeastern Conference.

Celebrating its 54th year, the Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top male U.S. collegiate golfer as voted on by only college golfers, coaches and members of the golf media. Past winners of the award have captured 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world.

A captain on the 2023-24 Wildcats squad, Goff leads the team with a 69.63 scoring average this season across six events. He has placed inside the top-20 in all six starts, including five, top-six finishes. Goff has been a counting score for Kentucky in all 16 rounds played this season and has finished at par or better in all six tournaments.

For his career, Goff boasts a 71.44 scoring average, 15 top 10s. six runner-up finishes and a victory at the 2020 Blessings Collegiate Invitational. The 2022-23 Second-Team All-SEC selection has 70 career rounds of par or better.

Goff has now been named to two major collegiate golf award lists this spring, having also been recognized on a 40-man Ben Hogan Award Watch List in February.

The Wildcats continue their spring campaign at the Schenkel Invitational, March 15-17, at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Georgia.
