Kentucky Softball vs. Central Florida, No. 3 Texas Washed Out
CLEARWATER, Fla. – Due to a band of rain showers moving through the Tampa and Clearwater area Saturday, the Kentucky Softball games vs. Central Florida and Texas have been cancelled and will not be made up.
Kentucky was leading 2-0 in the top of the first inning when the skies opened against UCF following an Ally Hutchins two-run double to the wall in left center and once the game entered its second rain delay of the day at 1:20 p.m. ET, the field was tarped and the game was called.
UK will end the 2024 ESPN Shriners Children’s Elite Invitational with a 2-1 record and wins over Wisconsin and North Carolina. Kentucky is now 6-2 on the season and will turn its attention to a trip to Spartanburg, South Carolina next weekend where it’ll play Akron, Monmouth and USC Upstate.
