LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s golf pays a visit to Gainesville, Florida this Friday and Saturday for the 2024 Gators Invitational, hosted by the University of Florida at the Mark Bostick Golf Course (Par 70, 6,701 yards).

The Wildcats are part of a 16-team field which includes the defending National Champion Florida Gators, as well as 26th ranked North Florida and No. 36 South Florida. Teams are scheduled for 36 holes of action on Friday followed by the final round on Saturday. A modified shotgun start will be utilized both days with play getting underway at 7:50 a.m. on Friday and 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. UK will play alongside Florida Golf Coast and Augusta in rounds one and two before teams are repaired for the final round.

“We’re excited to compete in Gainesville this weekend after a quick turn around,” head coach Gator Todd said. “I love playing on someone else’s turf, especially in the Southeastern Conference. This is a great course that requires discipline and patience. We have a different lineup this week and I’m excited to see who steps up.”

Kentucky finished in sixth place in its first spring event, The Battle at Briar’s Creek, behind top-five individual finishes from both Alex Goff and Campbell Kremer. The Cats put together a 4-under team total in the final round as Goff, Kremer and Jansen Preston all completed the closing 18 in red-figures.

For Kremer, his tied-fourth finish marked the best of his collegiate career, while Goff placed inside the top six for the fifth-consecutive start. Goff, who was named to the Ben Hogan Award Watch List last week, has now finished under par in four-straight events and owns an active sub-par streak of eight consecutive rounds.

Goff, Kremer, Preston and Oakley Gee all return to the UK lineup this weekend, while freshman Michael Hake joins the fold for his first spring start. Hake competed in four events this past fall for the Wildcats, posting two top-25 finishes, including a T14 at the Cardinal Individual Collegiate. Sophomore Andrew Clark is also slated to make the trip to compete as an individual.
