Friday Night Heights to Feature Kentucky at LSU
LEXINGTON, Ky. – No. 6 Kentucky gymnastics (3-1, 1-0 SEC) is set to take on Southeastern Conference opponent, No. 8 LSU (3-1), for Friday Night Heights beginning at 9 p.m. EST in The Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The Wildcats are coming off their best season start to date with last week’s 197.475 at No. 12 Auburn following the season opener in Las Vegas, Nev. at the Mean Girls Super 16 Gymnastics Championships where UK posted a 196.775.
At Auburn, fifth-year senior Raena Worley tallied her 22nd career all-around win while freshmen Creslyn Brose and Cecily Rizo earned their first individual event wins on the floor and vault. Senior Bailey Bunn earned her second career beam victory with a 9.950 on the apparatus.
Kentucky and LSU last went head-to-head in regular season competition in 2023 where the Cats defeated the Tigers on Excite Night in Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center, 197.125-196.575. In the 2023 postseason, UK faced LSU in the night session of the SEC Gymnastics Championship. The Wildcats finished fourth overall while the Tigers placed third.
LSU last hosted Kentucky at the PMAC in 2022 where the Cats upset the Tigers on their home turf, 197.500-197.450.
