Indiana 5, Kentucky 3

Peter Serruto hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting Indiana past Kentucky 5-3 in the NCAA Baseball Lexington Regional on Saturday at Kentucky Proud Park.

Indiana took the lead when, on the first pitch of the bottom of the first, Phillip Glasser took Zack Lee’s pitch over the wall for a solo home run.

Kentucky tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the second when Hunter Gilliam doubled and was brought home on a Ryan Waldschmidt single.

The Cats too the lead in the top of the seventh inning, scoring a pair of runs to lead 3-1.

That set the stage for Serruto’s late heroics.

Indiana advances in the winner’s bracket and will take on the winner of tomorrow’s first game between Kentucky and West Virginia. That game will start at noon ET. Sunday’s second game is set for 6 p.m. ET.
