Indiana 12, West Virginia 6

After trailing 4-3, Indiana mounted an offensive rally, scoring nine times in the final five innings to beat West Virginia 12-6 on Friday night in the NCAA Baseball Lexington Regional at Kentucky Proud Park.

The game was close early, with WVU taking a 1-0 lead on a Landon Wallace solo home run. Indiana took its first lead in the top of the second inning on a two-run single by Phillip Glasser. The Hoosiers would extend their lead to 3-1 before WVU tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the third.

The Mountaineers would take a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Brandon Berry led off the inning with a triple and later scored on a double steal.

Indiana took the lead for good in the top of the fifth inning, scoring three times to take a 6-4 advantage. WVU would get within one twice before the Hoosiers exploded for five runs in the top of the ninth to put the game away.

Indiana advances in the winner’s bracket and will face host Kentucky on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET. West Virginia falls into the loser’s bracket and will face Ball State at noon ET on Saturday.
