Kyra Elzy Names Liz Brown NIL Director for UK Women’s Basketball
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Liz Brown has been named NIL Director for the University of Kentucky women’s basketball program, a new position designed to provide players with education and opportunities to build and manage their brands, it was announced by head coach Kyra Elzy on Thursday.
“We knew we wanted to dedicate a position on our staff that could provide players with the training and tools to be successful in the NIL space,” Elzy said, “and Liz was the ideal candidate to fill that role. She is creative, innovative and personable, all of which are qualities that you look for in an NIL Director. Her dynamic influence and adaptable approach are fitting for this everchanging landscape, and we are excited to see the enhancements that she will bring to our program.”
Brown will be responsible for helping players develop and manage their brands, educating student-athletes on how to make smart decisions, while maximizing their NIL opportunities, and serving as an NIL liaison between internal units, among numerous other related duties.
Brown arrives in Lexington after serving two seasons at Fordham University, first as a director of administration in 2021-22 and then as an assistant coach in 2022-23. The Rams put together two straight 19-13 seasons and made back-to-back Women’s National Invitation Tournaments under her guidance.
Before that, she spent two seasons as director of operations, then assistant coach, at Marshall University from 2018-21. Prior to that, she was an assistant coach at the University of New Haven in 2017-18, while she also worked toward her master’s degree in sports management there.
Brown graduated from the University of Richmond with a degree in leadership studies, where she also was a four-year starter on the women’s basketball team.
