No. 8 Kentucky Travels West to Face Louisville on Tuesday

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following its third-straight Southeastern Conference series win this weekend over Ole Miss, the No. 8 Kentucky Softball team will travel west to face off against Louisville Tuesday night at Ulmer Stadium.

The game will begin at 6 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on ACC Network Extra, ESPN+ and the ESPN app with Suzanne Bush and Joanna Lane on the call from the Derby City.

Tickets for the game for fans who had them last week will still be honored Tuesday. Tickets are available through the UofL ticket office.

Kentucky leads the all-time series with Louisville 21-20. The Wildcats won the game in 2021 on a walk-off sacrifice fly off the bat of Lauren Johnson in nine innings.

The Wildcats are slotted at No. 8 in the NFCA Coaches’ Poll, and sit at No. 12 in the ESPN.com poll through 10 weeks of action. Kentucky is 27-9 on the year and is 8-4 in the SEC, currently good enough for a tie of second place, a half game behind Arkansas and Alabama.

UK lost game one, but won a Sunday doubleheader over Ole Miss to claim the SEC series this weekend. The Wildcats got a combined 13.1 innings from Stephanie Schoonover and Alexia Lacatena to hold OM to just four runs in the two games, as the Wildcats won game two, 6-2 and the rubber match, 8-2.

Louisville, led by Holly Aprile, is 21-16 on the year with a 5-7 record in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Cards won their series with North Carolina this weekend by virtue of wins in games one and three.
