UK Swimming and Diving Kicks Off Season at Blue/White Meet

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 2022-23 University of Kentucky Swimming and Diving season got its start on Friday afternoon with the team holding its annual Blue-White intrasquad scrimmage at Lancaster Aquatic Center. With a total tally of 327, Team Blue claimed victory for the second straight year, topping Team White’s score of 251.

“This is a fun meet with a great atmosphere,” head coach Lars Jorgensen said. “Both teams competed hard all day. Blue got the upper hand, but we are now ready to come together as a team and look forward to hosting Indiana on October 5th.”

A total of 32 events were held on the day and eight Blue-White meet records were broken, including three by senior captain Caitlin Brooks.

“There’s still some work to be done but this is a good place to start,” Nick Caruso, who set the meet record in the Men’s 500 freestyle to help Team Blue to victory, said. “The best part is, we’re teammates 364 days a year but this is the one day we really get to compete with each other.”
