UK Athletics Releases New Website, Mobile App
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky Athletics Department, in conjunction with JMI Sports and WMT Digital, has unveiled its new website and mobile app.
The new and enhanced version of UKathletics.com features mobile friendly design and keeps the same appearance on both mobile and desktop. The new official UK Athletics App, where season ticket holders will access their mobile tickets, has several new features for users to enjoy.
UK Athletics’ new mobile app is designed for the best possible user experience, especially on game days. In addition to accessing mobile tickets, fans will be able to utilize a number of other features to enhance their experience. Fans not able to attend the games will be able to be part of the game day excitement through the app.
The new UKathletics.com and official UK Athletics App was also designed for the BBNIL era. Each team’s roster page as well as student-athlete bios feature a media rich breakdown of each athlete’s background and story, in addition to easy access to the student-athletes’ social media handles, helping them to enhance branding opportunities and visibility.
The one-stop shop for the BBNIL era is ukathletics.com/NIL, the online home for the latest updates, information and resources regarding the NIL space.
“We are very excited for the Big Blue Nation to see our new website and mobile app,” said UK Athletics website coordinator Tim Letcher. “The mobile-friendly design of both of these products will enhance and expand our coverage of all 23 varsity sports at UK.”
JMI Sports established the partnership with WMT to provide the digital offerings for UK Athletics.
“JMI Sports is committed to delivering best-in-class solutions to our university partners,” said JMI Sports CEO Erik Judson. “WMT provides innovative digital platforms that are critical in the dynamic collegiate marketplace. This new platform not only offers an intuitive experience for our fans, but also shares the stories behind the scenes. We are thrilled with our partnership with WMT.”
WMT’s platform will help UK Athletics tell its own stories, according to the company’s founder.
“We want to thank Kentucky Athletics and JMI Sports for their trust in WMT Digital to bring comprehensive technology offerings to Big Blue Nation,” said Andres Focil, Founder and CEO of WMT Digital. “Their process has been both diligent and forward leaning. From the outset, JMI and Kentucky have been focused on innovation while elevating their storytelling and engagement with Big Blue Nation with mobile-first designs and unique ways for the platforms to engage users throughout the year. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with JMI Sports and Kentucky to develop new and different platforms and features throughout our partnership.”
The website and mobile app will continue to roll out more features in the coming months. A number of those will be designed to give users a personalized experience.
The new UK Athletics website maintains the same web address, www.ukathletics.com and the mobile app can be found on iTunes or in the Google Play store by searching “UK Athletics”. Current iPhone users should only need to install an update to see the new app. Android users will need to delete the current version of the UK Athletics app and download the new app from the Play Store.
