Ryan Ritter’s Second Home Run of Week Not Enough for Cats
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Braydon Webb hit a two-run home run – his second of the weekend – as No. 3 Arkansas withstood a flurry of hard-hit baseballs to defeats Kentucky 3-1 and complete a sweep at Baum-Walker Stadium on Southeastern Conference opening weekend.
Junior shortstop Ryan Ritter hit his fourth home run of the season but several other balls drilled by the Cats (14-7, 0-3) found Razorback leather and short-circuited rallies. Arkansas now has won 11 straight SEC series.
The Cats again did not play clean baseball, getting charged with three errors, but mostly were hurt by Webb’s two-run blast in the second inning and now must try to recover from an early hole in league play.
