Freshman Jackson Nove Shines in Southeastern Conference Debut
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas held serve at home on Saturday, winning its 10th straight game overall and 18th consecutive regular-season series at Baum-Walker Stadium with a 9-3 victory over Kentucky.
The Wildcats (14-6, 0-2) could not overcome a pair of home runs and six walks allowed, which led to eight runs yielded in the first four innings. The Wildcats will attempt to salvage the series and week in Sunday afternoon’s finale.
Senior Hunter Jump and freshman Jackson Nove provided the bright spots, as Jump homered off the facility in right field as part of a two-hit night. Nove worked two scoreless innings of relief in his Southeastern Conference debut.
Junior Chase Estep saw his career-long hit streak come to an end at 17 games.
