Five Wildcats Earn All-SEC Honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Southeastern Conference announced its annual gymnastics awards on Wednesday, featuring five Kentucky Wildcats recognized for a total of six honors.

Josie Angeny, Bailey Bunn, Anna Haigis, Arianna Patterson and Raena Worley were each bestowed All-SEC distinction, while Bunn was also one of six athletes from around the conference named SEC All-Freshman.

The All-SEC Team is comprised of the athletes who earned the top two scores (including ties) on each event in both sessions of last weekend’s SEC Championships. The SEC All-Freshman Team was determined by the same method when compared across competing freshmen.

No. 14 Kentucky finished fourth overall at the 2021 SEC Championships, beating No. 15 Auburn and No. 23 Missouri head-to-head with a 196.825 performance in Session I. Worley was named the tri-meet’s all-around champion (39.500) and uneven-parallel-bars winner (9.900).

She also tied for second place on vault (9.850) and floor exercise (9.900). Her tie for fourth overall all-around and tie for fifth overall on bars earned her a spot on the podium at the end of the night.

Haigis joined Worley on the podium for her career-high-tying floor score of 9.925, which won the afternoon session and tied for fifth place overall.

Patterson won Session I vault title (9.900), while Angeny tied with Worley for second. Angeny also tied for second place on bars (9.875). Bunn finished second all-around (39.425), tied for second on balance beam (9.900) and tied with Worley for second on floor.

Angeny was one of two Cats to earn All-SEC honors in a 2020 season without an SEC Championship, while the Spring Hill, Tennessee, native earned SEC All-Freshman distinction in 2019.

Worley was named to the SEC All-Freshman team last season.
