Nyah Leveretter Out Due to Non-COVID Related Illness

LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky sophomore forward Nyah Leveretter will not participate in tonight’s season opener vs. Presbyterian and will miss an unspecified amount of time due to a non-COVID related illness, UK head coach Kyra Elzy announced pregame.
 
Leveretter played in 14 games last season as a freshman, averaging 6.7 minutes per game. In UK’s lone exhibition of the season last Thursday, the forward scored eight points with five rebounds in 13 minutes of action.
 
The Kentucky women’s basketball team starts its 2021-22 season tonight at 7 p.m. ET against Presbyterian inside Memorial Coliseum. The game will be broadcast live on SEC Network+ with Christi Thomas and Jeff Piecoro on the call. Darren Headrick will have the call on the UK Sports Network (98.5 FM in Lexington, 1080AM in Louisville). Live stats and free audio will be available online at UKathletics.com.
