Kentucky Volleyball Ranked Third in AVCA Preseason Top-25 Poll
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches’ Association announced its preseason top-25 poll Monday afternoon, with the defending national champion Kentucky Wildcats slotted third in the rankings.
Kentucky joins No. 6 Florida as one of two Southeastern Conference teams ranked inside the top 10, and one of six SEC teams to either be ranked or receive votes.
UK garnered 17 first-place votes, the second most behind preseason No. 1 Texas, who got 32. Wisconsin will start the season ranked No. 2, as they received 15 first-place votes and 1522 total points. Washington (No. 4) and Nebraska No. 5) rounded out the initial top five.
The AVCA poll is released every Monday afternoon and is comprised of head coaches from around the country who vote in the poll.
