RICHMOND, Va. – The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has named 24 University of Kentucky swimmers and divers to the 2021 CSCAA Scholar All-America teams, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Of all 85 programs represented on the women’s side, Kentucky had the most swimmers and divers earn the honor at 19. The Wildcats landed 13 on the First Team – which also ranked first amongst all women’s teams – with six student-athletes earning Honorable Mention. The defending SEC champions had a team GPA of 3.746 during the 2020-21 academic year.

The Wildcat men produced five swimmers and divers on the list, including three with First Team selections and two receiving Honorable Mention recognition. The men’s team combined for a 3.273 GPA last year.

The CSCAA named 789 swimmers and divers to its Scholar All-American Team for the 2020-21 season. Kentucky’s 24 honorees between the men’s and women’s program ranked second amongst SEC schools. The SEC also led all conferences with a total of 194 First Team and Honorable Mention selections.

To qualify for the Scholar All-America First Team, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher and participated in their national championship. Those named Scholar All-American Honorable Mention also earned a minimum 3.50 GPA and either met the “B” time standard for the national meet or competed at a diving zone qualification meet.
