Rouse Named Top-30 Candidate for Senior CLASS Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky midfielder Bailey Rouse was selected as one of 30 candidates for the 2020-21 Senior CLASS Award on Wednesday.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

Rouse, a civil engineering major, posted a 3.79 GPA in 2019-20. He was the only Kentucky player to be named to the 2019 Conference USA All-Academic Team. Throughout his academic career, Rouse has earned C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll twice, Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll three times and was the 2018 C-USA Academic Medal recipient.

A team captain each of the last two seasons, the Littleton, Colorado, native was inducted into the university’s Frank G. Ham Society of Character in 2020. Rouse has volunteered with local youth soccer organizations each season during the team’s annual youth camps while at Kentucky.

He excels as Kentucky’s defensive midfield anchor and has recorded five goals on the offensive end. He appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter Top 10 players for a game-tying goal in 2019.

Finalists will be revealed with a 10-candidate final ballot in April, voted upon by media, coaches and fans nationwide. The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the 2021 NCAA College Cup in May.
