UK Gymnastics to End Regular Season at UGA

by Connor Link

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Coming off its second victory over a top-five opponent this season, No. 14 Kentucky (4-3, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) is set to close its 2021 regular season at No. 18 Georgia (2-5, 1-5 SEC) on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.

The meet will air live on SEC Network Alternate, which is distributed everywhere the main network channel is distributed. John Roethlisberger and Alicia Sacramone Quinn will be on the call.

The Wildcats are led into competition by reigning SEC Specialist of the Week Cally Nixon, who tied eight-time NCAA champion Jenny Hansen for the best uneven parallel bars score in program history with a 9.975 in Kentucky’s 197.100-196.800 upset of No. 2 LSU on Feb. 26.

Sophomore Raena Worley was the all-around champion (39.500) of last week’s win over the Tigers, marking her fourth such win of the season.

Georgia enters Friday fresh off back-to-back losses at Auburn and Missouri, teams that Kentucky defeated consecutively last January to open SEC play.
