Kentucky Track & Field Hosts Rod McCravy Memorial This Weekend
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky hosts the Rod McCravy Memorial on Friday and Saturday at Nutter Field House. The first event begins at 11 a.m. on Friday and at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. This will be the final indoor meet hosted at UK this season.
The meet will be streamed live on SEC Network+ with Matt Schumacker on the call. The broadcast is scheduled to run from 5:08 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday while running from 12:38 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The Wildcats are coming off of an impressive showing at the Ted Nelson Invitational in College Station, Texas, last Saturday. They won 11 events, including senior Ellen Ekholm, who won the women’s high jump with a mark of 6-0.75 (1.85-meters), which is a school record, a meet record and currently leads the NCAA.
Ekholm was also honored this week with Southeastern Conference Women’s Co-Field Athlete of the Week after her performance at Texas A&M. You can read more about her recognition here: https://bit.ly/2sNelZ0.
Kentucky will be back in action on Feb. 7-8 at the Doc Hale Elite Meet in Blacksburg, Virginia, while the distance runners are scheduled to compete on Feb. 8 at the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
