Kentucky Women’s Tennis Ranks Ninth in SEC Coaches’ Preseason Poll
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southeastern Conference announced the women’s tennis coaches’ preseason poll Wednesday, and the University of Kentucky women’s tennis team was picked ninth by league coaches.
The Georgia Bulldogs were picked as the overall champion. Georgia is coming off one of its best seasons that includes the fourth indoor title, an undefeated regular season, the SEC regular season title and a trip to the NCAA National Finals where they ultimately fell short to Stanford.
The preseason poll is voted on by the women’s tennis head coach at each institution and is based on a 14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 vote.
Kentucky is off to a hot start this season, featuring a 5-0 record and a 4-0 mark at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center. The Wildcats are 23-7 (.767) in the singles competition, while they boast a flawless 10-0 record in doubles matches.
